Boyd with some of his best bucks

Boyd Iverson, author of Blacktail Trophy Tactics II is from Eugene, Oregon and has been successfully hunting Blacktail deer for over four decades. In Boyd's 40 plus years of Blacktail Hunting he has been fortunate enough to have taken three Columbian Blacktails which qualify for the Boone & Crockett Record book and several others which came close. Although Boyd prefers to hunt with rifle or muzzleloader, his last six bucks were taken between 15 -35 yards, proving his techniques will also work with bow and arrow. Boyd states, "I love to still hunt Blacktails, but my most successful method for large bucks, has been utilizing treestands and placing them in the right spot. I'm always trying to improve my techniques and being persistent has been one key to my success".

Boyd is an accomplished writer and has had numerous articles published in major hunting magazines including Outdoor Life, Sports Afield, Washington-Oregon Fish and Game, Blacktail Publications, The Oregon Hunter, Deer and Deer Hunting, and Petersens Hunting.

His first book "Blacktail Trophy Tactics" set the standard for successful Blacktail hunting and was widely accepted by hunters across the United States and Canada. After additional research and analysis, Boyd completed his second book, "Blacktail Trophy Tactics II, a full color, larger format, 300 plus page book filled with useful information for Blacktail hunters.
